Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this paper was to evaluate the effects of aquacise on fitness and metabolic syndrome index in senior women.

METHOD: The subjects of this study were 28 women, and they were randomly assigned to two group(Ex;15n, Con; 13n). The measurement of factors was taken before and after the 8-week experiment. After the test analysis, standard deviations of all variables obtained through the experiment were computed. The paired t-test was used for finding the difference of variable within group, and The independent t-test was used for finding the difference of variable between groups.

RESULT: First, dynamic strength, and agility/dynamic balance were significantly increased both in the exercise group and between groups, but cardiovascular endurance was improved only in the exercise group. Second, the factors of body composition were significantly improved both in the exercise group and between groups. Third waist circumference, and TC/HDL-C were significantly improved both in the exercise group and between groups, but HDL-C was improved only in the exercise group.

CONCLUSION: When all the circumstances attending it was taken into consideration, aquacise is safe and effective program in senior women.
